Digital Game Extends a Seasonal Movie
Challenge: Create a compelling digital experience for a live action movie of the week. Make sure the characters and tone match the story, and create a game that is fun to play for the audience.
Solution: With the support of the Canada Media Fund, we built a new form of “tower defense” game using characters from the movie. The game allows players to position characters who move around on the map as they are being attacked by camping zombie kids, adding to the challenge and variety for gamers. We illustrated and animated all the characters from the movie and created original music and sound effects.
Result: 360,000 users from October 2013 – August 2015, and still being used. Not bad for a game to extend a seasonal movie of the week!
